Shine on, my fellow travelers.😊🌟

Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV). On a day created to celebrate transgender people, the onslaught of policies that attempt to erase and harm human beings continues. On this TDOV, we wanted to highlight how such legislation contrasts with the best available science.

Dr. Love’s work is amongst the clearest and most accurate health science writing out there today. It’s on the same level of meticulously researched and superbly thought-out as Heather Cox Richardson’s vital work. I consider them both essential reading.
10 years ago, my brother Brian died by suicide. It’s forever but also yesterday.

RFK Jr’s lies about mental illness will cause more deaths.

That's why I'll never stop fighting health disinformation.

That's my promise to you, B.

My fight against science misinformation is personal, because it costs lives like his.

None of us can be sure what will “work.” You try multiple things and find your way in. Read some histories of the Civil Rights Movement by those who participated. They were never “sure” of what would work. Some campaigns fizzled out. But persistence, creativity, determination, and focus were key.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

This is an excellent album and good reminder for folks who do not know Jutta Hipp to get familiar with her as an artist and a person.
"Jutta Hipp with Zoot Sims" (1956) is a sublime date with the feeling of high-level blowing session featuring the pianist & saxophonist with trumpeter Jerry Lloyd, bassist Ahmed Abdul-Malik & drummer Ed Thigpen on standouts like “Just Blues” & “Violets for Your Furs”: bluenote.lnk.to/JuttaHippWit...

This is beautiful and the timing for me to happen upon it just now is impeccable. Thank you, Dr. Bedard.🙏🏽
The palliative-care doctor Rachael Bedard writes about helping her grandmother prepare for death—and what she learned in the process of saying goodbye.
What My Grandmother Knew About Dying
As a physician, I trained in the delicate art of preparing people for death. Losing Harriet made me see the work differently.
