Having a bit of a miserable time right now but this perfect gift from lovely friends has cheered me up. The Beatles make it better.

The original lyrics to Starman hidden in a corner (typical MONA flex). I was surprised by how underwhelmed I felt looking at them—I don’t know if it was the graph paper or the penmanship but it felt less like a personal and cultural tectonic shift and more like someone’s English homework

Here’s the good stuff!

Poor quality snippets of Macca’s demo of Step Inside Love have been circulating for years, but here’s a full version from a BBC editor who was lent an acetate which he copied to a quarter inch tape.

An astonishing collection. Barry Humphries was far from being a billionaire and the creation of this collection certainly put a dent in his millions but imagine if this was the legacy of your wealth rather than, say, exploding rockets, exploding cars and fascism.
The material remains of a glorious twentieth century life. I suppose there will never be a Barry Humphries institute or museum, but this makes me yearn for such a thing to exist. www.christies.com/en/stories/b...
