It's been another dreich day today. Gloomy and so rainy. I really need to start making winter. Winter walks soaking up nature, knitting again(for some reason I've stopped), trying out new soups and stews, making decorations, drawing sketches to accompany letters, potted bulbs to brighten darker days

My Mum always said that if people were doing no harm don't criticise. Mine will go up last few weeks of December but if brightness and lights brings someone joy then they should go for it.
Before you roll your eyes, or judge the early Christmas decorators, let me tell you how dangerous the dark months can be to those with rocky mental health. Let them bring in more light. Let them do what they need go do to feel something. Let them be, in the here and now, seizing the moment, doing no harm to anyone. They are, quite simply, lighting up their darkness and creating joy where none exists. How wonderful. How wonderful. Donna Ashworth
