Walz: "To Americans who are watching this, I've got a question for you: What side do you want to be on? The side of an all powerful federal govt that can kill, injury, menace, & kidnap its citizens off the streets? Or on the side of a nurse at the VA hospital who died bearing witness to such govt?"

Odd that the option to purchase movies is disappearing. You can’t buy a copy of Hamburger Hill, just rent it.

Frogs in slowly heating water is a popular allegory for being unaware that you are being destroyed in an incrementally worsening situation.

But I'm drawing hope from the past week that we frogs may be a bit more aware of our situation than those allegorical frogs. #Hop

Yes, the Project 2025 agenda that was wildly unpopular in every opinion poll during the campaign is 100% the policy blueprint of the Trump admin, which was obvious then to people who paid attention and obvious now to everyone else.

California became the first state to ban most law enforcement officers—including federal immigration agents—from covering their faces while conducting official business, under a bill that was signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom. If you ask me, EVERY blue state should do this!

Who agrees? ✋

When you use AI, consider this: the massive energy demands of AI data centers are driving up electricity costs. As well known, the use of water for cooling is also huge.

The costs are socialized, the revenues go to the companies.

My favorite thing I learned recently is that my daughter can hula hoop! I never mastered it, still can’t do it. I hope she exceeds me in every way. I’m proud of myself, but I love learning that I don’t pass on my limits, just my love.

The most dedicated I’ve ever been to a goal was when I worked through my lifelong cat allergy so I could enjoy my cats I adopted at 25. Sometimes when I put my face into my cat’s fur, I remember that this would have laid me out for a whole day, and how I had to slowly adapt over years. Worth it.

I’m dropping YouTubeTV to connect my antenna to a vcr and program that ole girl to record my shows like I used to. I buy the tape, I record all the movies and tv shows I want. I’m a goblin so I will be recording over the same tape every week. But also I’m kind, so I’ll rewind.

I hope people realize how absolutely fucked this situation is.

This isn’t normal. People are resigning all over the place because the government is mishandling our data, ruining our public health services, and generally making Americans less safe.

One thing I feel like I fundamentally misunderstood is how many people see social progress as threatening, especially if it’s driven by young people.

I genuinely thought that they meant it when they said they wanted a better society for the next generation. And it’s so clear that isn’t really true.

"Execs at CBS’s parent company Paramount may have dumped Colbert not to appease Trump, but to join with him. There’s ample evidence that billionaires genuinely, sincerely like Trump’s vision of authoritarian rule by billionaire, and want to do their part to crush dissent and discipline the proles."
CBS cancels Colbert as media continues to turn Trumpward
