2025 watch #944: Now You See Me: Now You Don't (2025)

Not the best in the series, but I always enjoy a heist and they brought back Isla Fisher, so I can't complain.

2025 watch #943: The Running Man (2025)

It's not the original, but what could be? Decently fun and much more anticapitalist.

2025 watch #942: Who Killed Teddy Bear? (1965)

NYC was so much better before Giuliani.

2025 watch #941: Angel's Egg (1985)

Crammed full of religious symbolism and a story I am far too dumb to understand, but I will accept an egg in this trying time.

Girlfriend is making me live the meme because she doesn't want to get up to get more garlic knots.

2025 watch #940: Oldboy (2003)

Gets better every time I see it, and I always love introducing it to someone who hasn’t.
November 11, 2025 at 4:54 AM
Doing garlic knots again, too.

First attempt at bagels.

2025 watch #939: Urchin (2025)

Solid directorial debut from Harris Dickinson about the cycles of addiction and mental illness. I just wish 90% of the reviews weren't about how hot the director is, which has nothing to do with anything.

2025 watch #938: Predator: Badlands (2025)

A solid entry in the Badlands franchise, much better than the Springsteen entry. I still like Prey (2022) better, but Trachtenberg has got the juice.
November 10, 2025 at 12:52 AM
2025 watch #937: Gods and Monsters (1998)

Best Whale-related movie in Brendan Fraser's career.
November 10, 2025 at 12:52 AM
2025 watch #936: Ed Wood (1994)

I hate to give Johnny Depp credit for anything, but this showed he can actually act. Martin Landau was fantastic as Lugosi, and absolutely deserved his Oscar.
November 10, 2025 at 12:52 AM
2025 watch #935: Christy (2025)

Enjoyed the switch in genres from standard biopic to domestic violence horror/thriller about halfway through.
November 8, 2025 at 4:43 AM
2025 watch #934: Die My Love (2025)

mother! if it were less pretentious. The best anti-pregnancy PSA ever made.
November 8, 2025 at 4:43 AM
2025 watch #933: Game Night (2018)

Still the best ensemble comedy of the last 10 years, even if it was never profitable for Frito-Lay.
November 7, 2025 at 8:54 AM
2025 watch #932: Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023)

Why are there not already half a dozen sequels to this ridiculousness?
November 4, 2025 at 7:37 AM
2025 watch #931: Crash of Moons (1954)

Turrible, but as always, the robots make it better.
November 3, 2025 at 7:23 AM
2025 watch #930: Back to the Future 40th Anniversary (1985)

Once again, I am pointing out that at no point does George McFly have any sort of problem with his son being a dead ringer for their best friend from high school they hadn't seen for 13 years when that son was born. In this essay I will

2025 watch #929: It Was Just An Accident (2025)

Fantastic ending, incredibly funny, and you can still feel the anger over the director's real life experience underlying all of it.
November 3, 2025 at 6:04 AM
2025 watch #928: The Evil Dead (1981)

Everything's better with a crowd of drunks riffing.

"Must be Holland, because here comes a Dutch angle."

2025 watch #927: Targets (1968)

Me when you won't put your phone away during the movie.
November 2, 2025 at 6:54 AM
2025 watch #926: Fuck My Son! (2025)

I never thought I'd find a film I hated as much as Aggro Dr1ft, but here we are, and for the same AI slop reasons. Tries to be John Waters, but forgets to be funny, just gross and cruel. Gets its half star from the live Q&A with the director, who seemed cool.
November 2, 2025 at 2:49 AM
2025 watch #925: The Mastermind (2025)

We love a dumbass Danny Ocean, and as usual, the best part of a heist is when it all goes to shit.
