Today my friend and her son baked a cake just because I was coming over to hang out. I saw a young couple cross the street so that they could smell blossoms on a tree, a child riding on the shoulders of a grownup, & an elderly couple holding hands and smiling as they walked down the sidewalk.

Booked a consultation with a therapist at the end of the week. I think it's time, because the assessment made me cry. Time to kick depression's ass!

It may have taken me all day to muster up the will to climb out of my depression pit long enough to go for my stupid mental health walk, but it was well worth it, because I saw signs of Spring out there in the world.

I want to redo my 20s ONLY so I can have that cool skunk hair that the 20somethings are sportin' these days.

Today’s show was my last at CNN. My closing message: It’s never a good time to bow down to a tyrant… don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to fear. Hold on to the truth… and hope.

"sorry but you should reading more books that aren't--" shut up. read whatever you want lmao. idgaf. buy books. support libraries. have fun. this isn't a job. (I mean it is, for me. but like, it doesn't have to be a job.)

I am going to continue putting one foot in front of the other, making soup, dancing with my cats in the kitchen, greeting every bird I see, writing cards to my loved ones, and engaging in silly goosery. I cannot be of much use if I let myself wallow for the next four years.

I started a book club this year and I honestly love it, but I am currently resenting that all of my reading time is dominated by a book club book right now when I could be re-reading Watership Down.

Listen, did you ever had a bad boss, a terrible person, at a job that you can't, for whatever reason, quit? Did you learn to delay, obfuscate, frustrate, and otherwise fuck up that person just to the line where you could keep your job? Congratulations, you have the tools to resist authoritarianism!
It’s important to remember that resisting takes many forms—including throwing sand in the gears and just not… rolling over in advance—and they’re all needed and useful.
“Saying “No, it’s over! Don’t be so naive!” [is] really just rolling out a red carpet, the ultimate capitulation in advance. At the very least, put him to the task. Make him execute on what he’s trying to do. That’s the first role of a political opposition.” 👇

Nothing like listening to an NPR piece about dung beetles whilst breakfasting on a bran muffin! 📻🪲

no matter the outcome of this election: organize, build local community, build strength in masses. elections aren't the only time politics happen, it also happens on the streets, in the community and by mutually supporting each other.

I think I grieved about the trajectory of humanity a very long time ago and am now just trying to enjoy what there is to enjoy and love on people. Gotta keep trucking, because I have the privilege of still being alive.

You ever stress about making a good impression in an upcoming meeting so much that you try on every outfit in your closet? 😅

It's been an other-duties-as-assigned kind of week. There are kittens living in the ceiling of the library. Can we get any more stereotypical?
