Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

The vast majority of arrivals comprises students and workers.
Arrivals in small boats and asylum seekers - less than 5%.

We need to stop pussyfooting around and/or being legalistic about this and say simply: it is good and right that our law prevents our government from sending men, women, and children abroad to be tortured and killed. The Human Rights Act should be the minimum framework of a humane immigration system

Rubbish lines the streets of Birmingham. Surreally, equal pay laws are to blame.

My leader (based on my colleague Millie Wood's reporting) argues for rethinking "equal value"—which stretches an admirable aim of pay equality to a market-denying breaking point

In view of X's abuse of power, promoting far-right hate, regardless of the potentially violent consequences, I will cancel my X account later this week.

I'm at BobHammersley1.bsky.social. I find that the accounts which are most important to me are already on bsky or other platforms.
