Seems fitting for my first post here to honor our beloved rescue dog Ivy, who is now free from pain among the angels. 💔

- Cherish your fur babies 🐶
- Make sure you have pet insurance and know where the nearest emergency pet hospitals are
- Support animal rescues, fosters & volunteers

Was thrilled to see so many people turn out to voice their opposition to a 1300-acre data center coming to our township. This data center will negatively impact the area - and the people living in it - in so many ways, and it makes me sad to see it happen. 😢

Message to our friends from our hoomom. If able plz consider donating to a group that provides food for the beloved pets of people struggling right now. Our mum grew up very poor & remembers how hard it was to feed the family & their pet. Share some kindness. Love you all 🩷

Some restaurants are offering free meals or other deals to those at risk of going hungry while SNAP benefits are interrupted. I spotlighted some of these offers in this @parademag.bsky.social story.

As someone who grew up in poverty and relied on food stamps to keep hunger at bay, I had some thoughts on the SNAP situation.

UPenn got hacked today and the hackers sent out an obscenity-filled email saying they are a "dogsh*t elitist university" and won't protect your data privacy. I got the email (from 3 different UPenn accounts) because my dog was treated at their vet hospital. Wouldn't want to be their IT team today.

This obituary for a very good dog was published in a local paper, and now I really want dog obits to become a more common thing. 🐶

The House hasn’t shown up for work in weeks. They all would have lost their health coverage by now if they were subject to the same bureaucratic work reporting requirements Republicans put in place for folks on Medicaid.

Any editors looking for op-eds or essays about the impending halt in SNAP benefits, from someone who grew up on food stamps? Please reach out - I have lots of thoughts on this topic, and can share insight from firsthand experience.

The rescue where we adopted Ivy is having a calendar contest. Each vote is a donation to this excellent rescue organization, which could desperately use the support.

Trump, Hegseth show they're small men acting big in front of military leaders | Opinion

The most unbelievable aspect of Trump’s fake story about the nonexistent Trump Tower employee whose son died after getting a vaccine is the part where Trump supposedly asks a distraught person if they’re okay. Nobody’s gonna believe that.

One of the rescue orgs I support has a sweet French bulldog named Stephen King available for adoption. Would be so cool if his human counterpart @stephenking.bsky.social could sponsor him and maybe cover the adoption fee to help find him a home.
