Viking See-Saw might be the most fun Knizia game I’ve played but also wins for worst name.

I suck at Walnut Grove but love it in spite of that fact.

Gugong is a fairly interesting mini game euro. The interest comes from the tactical card play choices when selecting actions. A bit too much iconography to parse for my tastes but otherwise pretty slick.

Got to play with one of the new boards for Lost Ruins of Arnak from the Twisted Paths expansion. Really impressive how flexible this system has been and how much the decision complexity can vary from the base game through the expansions.

Finally played Knizia’s classic Through the Desert. You’re not laying tiles per se but it feels very similar to his other tile laying games like Samurai, Blue Lagoon, and Rebirth.

The thing it has going for it over those other games? It’s really quick. Almost a filler.

I don’t know anything about the source material for Invincible: The Hero-Building Game but the board game is colorful and clever and high on my lists of Co-ops that I actually enjoy.

Origin Story by @stonemaiergames.com tells a very thematic story for a trick taking game. Mei-Lin (aka Riptide) with her Jet Boots and multiple personalities has an Archenemy named Hyve so of course she was stung by an assassin drone that looks like a bee.

Turns out she’s terrible at taking tricks
