The sandhill cranes made their noisy migration over Atlanta this morning. My 2yo daughter and I watched for three minutes until they were gone. She said, “I’d do again.” Me too.

LAVELLE GOAL!!!
November 23, 2025 at 3:00 AM
Washington seems to have a faster, more fit team overall. Gotham isn’t executing. Lavelle is the most consistent corner-taker in soccer. Taking Reale out was the right move.

You know who the real freeloaders in this country are? Not people who rely on SNAP, but corporations whose business model depends on wages so low that taxpayers have to feed their workers.

Have to drive some distance by myself for some meetings today and very excited to blast Steely Dan and luxuriate in being a middle aged man. Call me #deaconblues.

NEW: 200+ Chicago-area clergy — Protestants, Catholics, and evangelicals — have signed a letter decrying ICE's efforts and voicing a willingness to put their "bodies on the line" for migrants.

"What Kristi Noem and her ICE agents are doing is immoral," they write. religionnews.com/2025/10/21/a...

How long until the position players start pitching?
October 11, 2025 at 4:16 AM
In advance of the Oct. 18 protests, I once again want to pitch that 200 protests of 50 people (or 400x25) scattered across a city where people actually are will have greater visibility and impact than a single protest of 10,000 people in some downtown center that everyone avoids on the weekend. 1/5

This morning was only the second time I've worn my Rose Lavelle t-shirt, and I was stopped by a dad at the daycare where our kids all go. Another Cincinnatian in Atlanta!

I still think this is the right approach. Instead of 1,000 people gathering in a park - have 10 people at each of 100 intersections. (4 people x 250 intersections?)

Protesting authoritarianism should be ever present and unavoidable.
In the leadup to next weekend - I'd like to suggest and encourage more, smaller protests rather than fewer, larger protests.

(1) Increase visibility. Not that many people head to the city center on the weekend. Bring the protests to where the people are.

For second Sunday in a row, have protested, solo, at a busy Atlanta intersection for 2 hours. Horns, hand gestures, and shouts indicate about 97% support among people interacting for my messages of 1) no kings, 2) no masked police, 3) support for immigrants, and 4) more protests are needed.
