The new Clinton-related workplace sexual harassment oral sex scandal is gay? Maybe somebody needs to reign the writers in a little, audiences are very sensitive about woke reboots.

Here is a branch of the DoJ explaining the overwhelming link between "militant, nationalistic, white supremacist violent extremism" and terrorism. Thank goodness @archive.org's Wayback Machine archived it: this article was pulled after Kirk's assassination. web.archive.org/web/20250911...
What NIJ Research Tells Us About Domestic Terrorism
Militant, nationalistic, white supremacist violent extremism has increased in the United States. In fact, the number of far-right attacks continues to outpace all other types of terrorism and domestic...

This is simply untenable. There is no way forward with media and political classes captured by the right. Every time someone commits a crime you have to pray it's not an undesirable or it's purge time, then when it turns out to be themselves again they just shrug and wait for the next one.

Old soviet joke: a man buys a newspaper, glances at the front page, and throws it out. He does this several days in a row until the clerk finally asks him what he's doing.

"I'm checking for an obituary."

"But you don't even open the newspaper! The obituaries aren't on the front page!"

Bread makers are like "oh this recipe is so forgiving I dipped three large wingfeathers instead of the four tailfeathers in blood and rotated them counterclockwise instead of clockwise while the moon was slightly waning instead of properly full and it came out great. It's basically foolproof!"

“Lemonade” screams the small child. Her parents sit nearby with a pitcher, supportive but baffled. I stop my bike and the child starts trying to upsell me a bad math discount at 3 glasses. I pay in exact cash; she gives me change anyway. The lemonade is terrible. The child is a terror and perfect.

hey, you guys? is it a good thing or a bad thing if during a hearing your own co-counsel texts your other co-counsel and says “oh shit that was just not true” in reference to something you just told the chief judge of the D.C. district court???

This Ouija board is only useful for fabricating crimes from mass surveillance. If you're asked to build this, your options are to refuse, sabotage, quit, or to forever be the scum that built hell, to make your soon-forgotten name a stain on this earth. It's time for engineers to grow a spine.

Man the @eff.org’s Foilies are going to be something else this year. @maassive.bsky.social, you’ve seen this?
Happy FOIAFriday the 13th! NEW issue of my newsletter is out.

In March, I filed a #FOIA request with the US Institute of Peace just as DOGE was taking over the agency. This week USIP sent me the most incredible response to a #FOIA request I have ever received.

1. LAUSD preemptively trains staff on how to protect students from immigration authorities

2. training succeeds, principals and teachers repel lying Feds

3. superintendent clearly and unequivocally tells the public the Feds lied to illegally access children

Is your school district this ready?
BREAKING: Federal agents in plain clothes and unmarked cars tried to snatch 1st graders from LA elementary schools—told staff they had “parental consent.”

They lied. When pressed, they HID THEIR IDS. DHS admits they sent them. This wasn’t a welfare check. It was a test run for a police state.

It is incredible to witness two hall-of-fame competitors still dominating at the highest level of their craft. The decades of experience, the technical mastery, the sheer artistry—even casual observers can appreciate watching the sport of divorced men performed at this elite tier.

Dear science fiction writers: I would 100% read the short story of a Computer Fraud and Abuse Act case from a similar setup to this real log from a friend. In this example an LLM tries to crack passwords in order to make unit tests pass. Who is liable? How does the outcome of the case shape society?

The consequences of AI having poor taste seem like a lot. "Engagement"-metrics-chasing has already been a mess, and in the future a lot of our entertainment consumption might be mediated by AI. I wonder how the current gap between what humans like and what AI's think humans like will play out.
