Wang et al. identify NA broad-inhibition mAbs (BImAbs) that block the activity of NA derived from multiple influenza strains, including the recent cow H5N1. The BImAbs target the conserved NA enzymatic pocket and protect mice against H1N1 and H5N1. These results can guide NA-based universal flu vaccine design.
