California Gov. Newsom moves forward with putting proposed congressional maps on the ballot in Nov. 4 special election in attempt to counter GOP redistricting in Texas.

Coastal Georgia for Democracy (Savannah Indivisible) is bringing together political leaders and new candidates to speak directly with Georgians who seek answers to tough questions. The Town Hall will feature leaders from many of the upcoming races in Georgia: within Savannah and surrounding counties, plus Congressional District 1, and the Governorship. This is NOT a campaign rally. No slogans, no soundbites, no speeches. Instead, we’ll come together for in-person discourse about the issues that matter to us, the voting public. Seldom is there an opportunity to ask political leaders the hard questions face-to-face. They're running for positions to make decisions that affect OUR health, OUR safety, and OUR quality of life. Coastal Georgia for Democracy hosted a Big Beautiful Backlash rally, protest and march at Thomas Square Saturday against Trump's budget bill.

Protestors braved the Savannah heat during the Big Beautiful Backlash Rally and March opposing the Big Beautiful Bill and Congressman Buddy Carter.

Despite the heat, hundreds participated in our Big Beautiful Backlash to protest the GOP's "Big Beautiful Bill" that threatens the welfare of tens of thousands in Coastal Georgia.

"I have been to Buddy Carter’s Office. He hasn’t held a town hall in eleven years. That is ridiculous. He is afraid to talk to us…he is a coward."

With 1.4 million Georgians receiving SNAP benefits, it is estimated that hundreds of thousands of Georgians will lose their primary way of buying food.

The group says it invited Congressman Buddy Carter to answer submitted questions from the community, but he declined the invitation. Instead, they left an empty chair to represent Carter’s absence.
