when the tissue of sun
comes apart
remember
rivers
colors
kinships
plains & surges
enough to soothe
your #last thirst

if fate must have its way
we forge our own fable

it breaks us
or saves us

depending on how
we choose to see

On the corner of 110th and Riverside Drive we stood outside and watched the most magnificent winter sky.

That was our last sunset before we left New York City.

There’s a river of darkness
Flowing through my veins
Blackens my daydreams

Sinks my soul
To out of reach depths
Through to the #last of the empties

Because without you
Moon stars sun blur into one
These are my never more hours

20-year-old West Virginia National Guard member, Sarah Beckstrom, died a day after volunteering to serve in DC so that others could enjoy Thanksgiving with their families. She deserves our gratitude, not political exploitation by a shameless president who scapegoats immigrants to swell his power.

She blew steam from her coffee. “I’m old.”

His eyebrow rose.

“I can remember the good old days when we knew what #mattered. We didn’t back dictators or blow ships up in the Caribbean.”

He grabbed Bailey’s from the cupboard. “Need something stronger.” #vss365

You matter
despite the pull
of nervous chatter
that reverberates
inside your shaking skull.
You may look
at every falling raindrop
looking for reasons
to kiss armageddon
but your lips
shiver
as the sky cracks,
revealing
a worth like bees

that expands
beyond dark energy.

‘Sounds like you had a bad day.’

‘You could say that. I was voted Least Likely to Succeed by my class today.’

‘Ouch. That’s painful.’

‘Yeah. It’s tough being a teacher some days.’

When we attended
your friend's wedding
it was going fine,
we laughed
before the toast

but as the speech
wore on, we heard
the word "forever"
more than once

when we locked eyes
we felt the crack,
a crystalline fracture
soon to turn
to shattered glass

the moment—
like shards
piercing my heart.

Her #threshold to eternity
Extremist tried to topple down
With vengeance and greed

" #Matters of hatred circulated "

Marking her worthless of all
In raw languages and rumours
From early morning dew drops
To midnight misty, fumbling talks

“Will they hurt us?” Ian asks.

“Not intentionally,” Mula says, “but we’re trapped ‘till dawn. We’ll have to camp here.”

The young witch sits beside the squire. “But, what handsome company.”
