The last time
I felt a moment of
undiluted happiness—
I was travelling
by bus
to a vineyard,
green fields
everywhere
sun streaming
in the window,
& my love there—
days when I swore
we’d be us
forever
before it all
fell apart
& for the longest time
warm moments
replaced with stone
in my heart.
