Volunteer medics have written a powerful and fact filled letter to David Lammy.

It is long (8 screenshots) but a must read.

Amazing to see someone say something can't be a conspiracy theory because RFK has said it. THE MAN HAS A WORM IN HIS BRAIN. He has been the nutjobs nutjob for years.

On holiday and already missing my dog. So here she is doing her most adorable smile to make her seem a little less far away.

Look. I know we need to block and not engage with trolls, but that doesn't mean blocking anyone that asks us to to explain ourselves or clarify our position. Otherwise we're just building little echo chambers for our outrage. I've been corrected a lot, and learnt a lot and that's what I'm here for.

Anyone that hasn't listened to the @quietriotpod.bsky.social episode about the Elon and Trump interview is missing out. Genuinely laugh out loud hilarious.

There were 361 pedestrians killed by cars in the UK, in 2021, 74 killed by cows in 2022, and ONE person was killed by a cyclists in 2022 (4 in 2020). Why the focus on cyclists?!
Also, there are no speed limits for cyclists.

Fucking hell. Goalhanger advertising 'The Rest Is Football' at the end of a TRIP podcast. Everything else is already fucking football and the ad just seems to be lots of hooting and shrieking. Please leave us alone.

I am in a constant battle with myself not to indulge my own sense of victimhood and to remember that most people (nrly everyone, in fact) aren't me, and see and feel things differently. It's weird though, how being a victim has such powerful political cache and how we all compete for the privilege.

As a Centrist Dad (TM) can someone explain in a little more detail why I should consider myself too thick to have a valid political view? Wanting some form of political and economic stability, with a steady move to improved equality and individual freedom, instead of performative duck swinging?

Motorcyclists: save yourself £'s by not buying a motorbike and revving it loudly around residential streets and achieve the same effect by simply walking around and shrieking into people's gardens' I'M NOT SEXUALLY INADEQUATE, HONEST.' with maybe a little 'Neeeoooowm' to yourself at the end.

I went to the library to ask if they had this book about Pavlov's Dog and Schrödinger's Cat. The librarian said it rang a bell but she wasn't sure whether they had it or not.

Gutted that @sturdyalex.bsky.social has left OGWN. Easily my favourite contributer. Chuffed to have discovered @quietriotpod.bsky.social to fill the void. (Still going to listen to OGWN as well, because it's awesome.)

Elon Musk’s financial headaches at X continue as advertiser’s boycott causes an 84% collapse in revenue leaving Musk admitting X could face bankruptcy and asset managers fearing he will devalue Tesla as he sells off up to $2bn of shares to prop it up. fortune.com/2024/08/15/e...
Elon Musk may have to sell billions in Tesla stock to rescue X
Plunging U.S. revenue at X risks opening up a "massive hole" on its balance sheet that Musk needs to plug to stave off its financial collapse.

The FT has done some interesting research on why Americans live shorter lives than the English at every level on the income distribution scale.

The US myth of personal freedom’ over collective support seems to play a part. More guns, more unsafe driving, people slipping through the cracks…
