So true, and whether that was the Colonial Period, the first great wave (1820-1880), the second great wave (1880-1920), or the current global era (1965-present), there were people that were here just a short time that hated new immigrants. When they weren't busy killing & cheating native residents.
Remember: Almost all of us are the descendants of immigrants who fled persecution, or were brought to America under duress, or sought better lives for themselves and their descendants.
Politicians who stoke fear and hatred over immigration want you to forget this.
