since we won’t be holding billionaires accountable or seeing climate guidance from the government for the next 4 years, let’s lean hard into individual actions that make a big impact en masse. i LOVE the no buy movement, but when there are things you gotta replace… here are the brands i love:

Building *slows* gentrification; and *not* building makes it much worse: "The findings suggest that not allowing more homes to be built—even for high-income residents—pushes up all rents, making it harder for low-income tenants to remain in their neighborhoods." -- www.pew.org/en/research-...
New Housing Slows Rent Growth Most for Older, More Affordable Units
The nationwide housing shortage has driven rents up more in low-income neighborhoods than in the U.S. overall, but in areas that have recently added large amounts of housing, rents have fallen the mos...

They're still going to House offices.

They know we're almost certainly, barring a miracle, going to lose this vote. They know, but they won't stop trying because what the fuck else are you going to do when it's your child?

Thank you for funding this.

Little Lobbyists brings disabled kids & their families to DC to confront electeds with the consequences of their votes: look at these cute kids, who’ll die without Medicaid

their work is powerful, unique, and VERY effective

if you’re looking to donate to something that WORKS? here it is:
This bill has NOT passed out of Congress, it has to go back to the House.

We're getting @littlelobbyists.com families to Washington DC tonight, so they can be on the House-side tomorrow. We need to cover van and hotel costs, if you can contribute:

Neighborhood streets, where kids used to just tool around on bikes, haven’t changed. But what probably has changed is the kid’s friend’s dad, who lives next door, likes to drive his SUV fast and thinks people shouldn’t be in the street.
Walk down a quiet American street a few decades ago, and chances were good that you’d come across a vision of the Spielbergian sort: a gaggle of school-age children charging down the block on bikes, armed with a steely sense of purpose, and without any protective headwear. +

Kids on bikes once filled the streets. Not anymore.

Funny thing is, my extremely Republican county has free public transportation because a county commissioner did the math and realized making all the buses free, not just the tourist beach trolley, was in fact cost effective because free buses convinces more people not to drive.
There's a proven way of reducing road congestion but we don't like investing in it because it's socialism so instead we aim for AI tech.

The answer is mass transit.
I have covered more Tesla stories about self-driving dreams, promises, delays, dangers than you'd ever care to deal with... Occasional startup stories, stories on the competition overseas, the partnerships. One thing nobody seems to care about? Traffic congestion. How much worse it will get.

These errors are at the heart of a ghost network. Here's what you can do to navigate one ⤵️
