FOLKIES! Long-shot, but does anyone know anything about this album called ‘Bygone Christmas’. It’s been a big festive favourite in my family for years. 24 unaccompanied songs in 3-part harmonies, carols and Christmassy folk songs, but no info on the liner notes about who is singing.

Brilliant @blackbeardstp.bsky.social gig in York this evening! They bring such amazing fun and energy to their gigs and the Christmas show is always something special.

Lovely to chat with Stuart and Laura afterwards too, looking forward to seeing you somewhere at another gig next year!

We’ve played our annual Christmas knees-up for years at The Crescent, York. We’ve sold it out on the night before, but never over a week in advance. What a thrill. So looking forward to playing a few festive favourites in York and Stowmarket this weekend.

Candid quotes from the dressing room: “You don’t want to be getting into a sandwich-off with my mum.”

Having forgotten that Elf on the Shelf begins tomorrow, this was quite a weird thing to walk in on at 1.30am after a gig and a two hour drive. It seems Dolly is losing strip Uno badly.

It was lovely to meet Lucy last night. Her first gig and her 8th birthday. Is it obvious that she rather idolises Laura?

All day I've had one song in my head: 'Jack Ketch' by the amazing @blackbeardstp.bsky.social - but the bad guy protagonist's name keeps coming out wrong - I keep singing "I'm Matt Gaetz!"🤣

I've started up a starter pack loosely based around the UK folk and traditional music scene and will be adding to it all the time. If you can think of any artists, organisations or mandolin-whittling interest groups I've missed please let me know!
