Elon Musk Accidentally Wasted a Vast Sum of Taxpayer Money Due to His Staggering Incompetence
Elon Musk's DOGE could actually be costing the government far more than it saves — an astronomical waste of taxpayer money.

This is Ghost. He's 5 months old. He's just a couple of hours in his new home. He's playful and aggressively affectionate.

Cocoa died last night. He wasn't even 3 years old. Somehow his bladder had ruptured.

I haven't had a pet since I was very young. I never liked cats much, having always had negative experiences with them, but I was absolutely smitten with Cocoa. I miss my squishy boy.

If JD Vance came to ski in New Hampshire, and we had the same amount of tip-off time as Vermont had, I guarantee that people would come protest him here, too. Republicans may outnumber Democrats in the State House here, but not by enough to stop us from protesting! #NHPolitics

A defining policy battle is about to come to a head in this country. The Republican budget will force everyone - especially Congress and the White House - to make plain whether they are prepared to harm the rest of us in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest.

It seems almost unavoidable at this point that we are headed for a deep, deep recession. Just based on 200K+ federal firings & pullback of contracts, the March employment report (to be released April 4) seems certain to show bigger job losses than any month ever outside of a few in 2008-9 and 2020.

This is embarrassing. I wonder how many of the working humans at Google are embarrassed on behalf of their employer.

Shocked, I tell you!

Anybody who has experience with both software engineering and generative AI - and there are a lot of us - never for a second bought any of this garbage.

The "First AI Software Engineer" Is Bungling the Vast Majority of Tasks It's Asked to Do
Researchers have found that AI tech company Cognition's Devin, the "first AI software engineer," is astonishingly bad at its job.

Reminder that "AGI" is pure science fiction. The FUD is being perpetuated by a blend of cynical profit hungry corporate interests and credulous laypeople. What baffles me is how utterly captured some legendary experts are by the sci-fi stories.
AGI could possess the versatility to reason, learn & innovate in any task. But with rising concerns about job losses, surveillance & deepfakes, will AGI be a force for progress or a threat to humanity?

My wife and I met in 1998 via an online dating site. It has long since been subsumed by others. It was long before the advent of smart phones, so dating apps and twitter didn't exist.
Same — we met IRL, at a dance thing in a bar in NYC. Before the age of the dating apps.

But he asked me out over Twitter DM after I ribbed him about an XKCD comic he’d tweeted. So: still very online.
i feel like a person from another time entirely because of the fact that i met my wife irl

Reminder that the web is not the Internet. The terms are not interchangeable. In fact, if we could rewind time and keep today's knowledge, we would not invent the web.
