When I asked Nigel Farage's spokesman last week, he flatly denied that his boss had ever racially abused anyone.

Now Farage is only saying he never did so in a "hurtful way".

Does he think there's a non-hurtful way to racially abuse someone?

The fact that in both 2019 and 2024, the winning party did so with a set of manifesto promises that could not be kept and dissolved upon contact with actual office is something that as an industry we should be much more bothered by than we are.

The agenda moves quickly, Paul, because you are all on X and allow a foreign owned media organisation with an agenda against this country to set that agenda. That's on you and your bosses.

All six finalists are white and, I think, straight, which is weirdly out of keeping with the demographics on the Late & Live sideshow, and the ITV series to date. Not sure why I'm sharing all this here really but it certainly feels like even my escapist corner of the media is not immune to the tide

On the left, we've lost a wonderful thoughtful trans man, a Black woman with superb conflict resolution skills (and, we've since seen, the same Self Esteem t-shirt as @wiilassie.bsky.social), and last night a precociously wise Bristolian teen (and a Manc guy modelling a masculinity I…didn't dislike)

The other two are left- and soft-right-coded but among the most apolitical contestants in recent series.

One finalist who's an actual Young Conservative, one who says T*mmy R*binson has some valid points in his YouTube videos, one who says his politics are "centre" but he'd never vote Labour, and the favourite to win who's an older man with an excessive dislike of women/"ladies/girls" swearing.

yes I think @youngvulgarian.marieleconte.com has talked about this, it's deeply alienating to find out that the vast majority of people do not want the curated timeline / engagement / discussion version of social media that I find to be the only good version of the experience
