While my son and daughter-in-law are on their honeymoon, we are watching their dog. He’s a pure bread Danish Scotcheroo, Call Name Beetle, Champion Name Prince Albert of the Tobacco Cans.

Mosey, in repose

Not only was he wicked handsome, he was polydactyl!

For #Caturday, a favorite moment with the late, great Mosey who was with us from about 2000 to 2017. He lived a good, long life, spending many very early mornings at my feet, next to the space heater, as I wrote.

For #Caturday, a picture of our family cat Midnight c.1967, no doubt eying a sparrow or pigeon from our front stoop outside Boston.

If you’re curious about AI, or love it, or hate it.

I asked ChatGPT the following and it produced the shared picture. It raises many issues for me.

Could you draw what you think the main characters in “House of Sand and Fog” looked like—the Bahrani family, Kathy, and Lester would have looked like

Happy international dog day!

For four years I had Jake, adopted as a 13 year old, and who blessed me with his companionship right to the end.

Truly the best doggo ever.

Jake saying good morning to the new baby bunny who seems to nest under an arborvitae behind the house. Jake calls him BB3–says there are seven of them and says, except for BB5, they are “chill.”

He can’t see them but he can certainly smell them. They seem to sense he is not a threat.

Our 17-year-old lab Jake from State Farm is dealing with some chronic pain (what dog wouldn’t at that age?). His veterinarian gave him a microdose of Ketamine yesterday.

This morning he hacked my brokerage account and started a leveraged buyout of Tesla.

Smart doggo

No wonder we procrastinated for 33 years

Not an expert but am pretty sure this isn’t a good look for an investment portfolio

Some days I go to my dictionary (American Heritage, 4th Ed), randomly go to a page and, eyes closed, point to a spot. If it’s an interesting word, I record it and bookmark it.

Today it was “Cerrado, an extensive savanna region of southwest Brazil.”

Now you know

He rescued us when he was 13 and will turn 17 later this year

After a warm spell, it’s turning cold again in Massachusetts, so Jake is doing what he does best—snoozing

My 16-year-old rescue Jake is the most photographed doggo ever.

Seriously paparazzi, time to give him a break

Found this amazing photo of Dylan and Suze Rotolo at the 1963 Newport Folk Festival. I am reading her memoir now and she talks about the strain they were experiencing. You can see it.
