“Oh my God it's so beautiful
Everything is a part of me
It's so hard looking through all the lies made of wool
But if you close your eyes it becomes so easy to see”

I had the honour to serve in Parliament with Ken Dryden.
He loved this country.
He was a brilliant writer and one of the great hockey legends.
Thank you for your service Ken.
Canada is a better place because of you.
You are with the angels.

Yes, the captain intentionally piloted the ship into a huge iceberg, cracking the vessel like an egg.

But the officers insist we'll all greatly benefit from an invigorating midnight swim through Arctic waters.

Why didn't General McAuliffe just put on a suit and sign whatever the Germans wanted him to sign?

What Trump doesn't get about "Gulf of America": The attempted renaming makes Americans look like defeated losers. Latest in @theatlantic.com www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
The ‘Gulf of America’ Is an Admission of Defeat
Trump’s renaming of the Gulf of Mexico is not triumphant but pathetic.

“When our van pulled over, every vehicle on the roadway stopped when they realized that a D-Day veteran was making his way to the bridge. They got out of their cars and stood at attention in the rain.”
Since the return of Trump 2.0 I have been thinking about Bény-sur-Mer, the immense Canadian war cemetery in Normandy. Democracy, freedom and national sovereignty came at a massive price.
We will never let someone as cheap as Donald Trump rob us of this heritage.

Incredibly moving Justin Trudeau remarks:

"We have fought and died alongside you....During your darkest hours...we were always there. Standing with you, grieving with you, the American people....Canadians are a little perplexed as to why our closest friends and neighbors are choosing to target us."

More Facebook wasteland: I've seen a few of these sponsored ads pass by. Lamenting the big guys closing down a mom and pop. Last time it was two ladies who also just became grandmas. There is no bricks & mortar. There is no address. It's all a scam. Comments hidden so no community push back.

Cannot stop thinking about how Octavia Butler wrote a book in 1993 about climate change. It opens with deadly fires in LA in 2025. In the story, a fascist President has just won office with the campaign slogan "Make America Great Again."

She was a modern day Nostradamus. If only we'd listened.
