I'm still not gonna convince anyone to watch something they have no interest in. And while I disagree with AniMat, I respect his opinion 100%.

It is mostly shot-for-shot, which I normally don't like. But there are new things that do add to the story, unlike the Lion King remake which was mostly shot-for-shot but added unnecessary filler to fill in its nearly 2 hour runtime.

Having Dean DeBlois as the director also helped since he has a great understanding of the franchise having directed the whole animated trilogy. Is it better than the 2010 animated classic? I'm not gonna say that. However, it showed how to do a live-action remake the right way.

I don't know if it'll necessarily be the worst thing out there, but so far it really doesn't look all that appealing. CGI Hei Hei… GET THAT THING AWAY FROM ME!!! Lol

Yeah, that was totally nightmare inducing!

I just don't give a crap about many of these live-action remakes anymore. Some of them have worked like Jungle Book, Cinderella and (surprisingly enough) How to Train Your Dragon. Other than those, the rest of them are useless and just don't translate well to live-action.

Actually, I mean after Cars 2.

I think I might have a clue which ones are 10/10 in the second half.

I'm sure they will. Maybe not everybody, but most people.

That's why we have to be very careful when it comes to early reactions, especially after a film's premiere. However, based on the reactions we have gotten so far, it sounds Jared Bush and Byron Howard have another winner on their hands. I think more people will feel the same way when they see it.
November 14, 2025 at 3:02 PM
I also want to take this with a little grain of salt though. Because when the Lion King remake had its world premiere, the reactions were positive as well and then more people saw the movie and look how it turned out? Doesn't mean the same will apply to Zootopia 2, but just wanna remind ya'll.

My thoughts exactly. Besides, the MCU as a whole needs a break and maybe have a fresh reboot in the next couple of years.

I did enjoy the first Doctor Strange film for what it was. But now Multiverse of Madness…

not a fan.
