Found this photo of @racheljs.bsky.social and me earlier, not long after we'd got together, so probs early 2020 before the bloody COVID shenanigans. I am noticeably more grey about the follicle output, but happy to report that Rachie is still jolly gorgeous 🥰

Many thanks my fine chum, I had a quiet but enjoyable day. I hope you are both having a grand time on your holibobs.

My sister, a lifelong lover of Concorde, had never actually seen one in the wild. It bought me great pleasure to remedy that on Tuesday @bristolaero

The Phantom is in a very bad way. Send positive thoughts.

In other news, it is day two of my holibobs. I'm finishing these off today and priming them before going away for a few days tomorrow. And, unusually for me, I'm indulging in a spot of daytime drinking 👍😁🍻🤣🤣

M4 westbound betwixt J14 and J15 is currently a stand, and has been for 30 minutes. Bang goes my early finish...

A shade over an hour's work later. Bogies and body assembled, just waiting for the glue to go off overnight now. Then final assembly, and she'll be in the paintshop at the weekend when I get home 👍🙂

I don't know why I haven't thought of this before, but the recent free cutting mat with #railwaymodeller magazine from #peco has inspired me to assemble a "go box" and bring along a couple of wagon kits to build while working away this week. First up, a WW1 WD ambulance van 👍🙂

I haven't picked up one of my guitars for two years.
Until about 20 minutes ago. My trusty @tanglewood.bsky.social acoustic. We may need some time lols

COVID day 2, and I've been outting my time to good use. the weathering on the distillery transfer little (big) diesel shunter is coming along nicely. It looks shiny, but that's a wet coat of matte varnish, it'll dry dull.

When we're having a cup of tea, remind me to tell you the tale of how the modern-day 617 Squadron neglected to adopt your wise stance on hornets, and were given a salutory lesson in dog-fighting skills by those who wore the hornet on their tail 😀☠️🤣

I shall illustrate the proper meaning of "foxy" with these photos of my very, very, VERY foxy Fijian lover 👍😁😍🤣

I'm awake early (again, what's wrong with my body clock ffs) for day 2 of the Statfold "Spectacle Of Steam" event. Here I am yesterday with my Fijian lover 😍

What a ridiculous idea

So the nameboard plaques for my in-progress 009 gauge layout have arrived, and I'm very happy with them 👍🙂

Glenda, many apologies, I completely forgot to send a photo of the speaker / mic. Here it is!!

This is the Kato chassis that the diesel mechanical shunter will sit on. A very new and shiny chassis 😳🤣 I'm undecided whether to paint it matt black and drybrush some weathering on, or make it gloss red and use washes. That'll be later though, because we're going to a car boot sale now apparently 🤣

I take my hat off to those of you that can / have painted miniatures. I am beyond rubbish at painting them, which is an issue when you're building a model railway!! This was my last attempt, the pilot of a Bristol Bulldog I built a couple of years ago. That model is displayed sans pilot 😁🤣🤣

Thanks Carl!! None of my stock stays looking new for very long, I like everything to have a sense of "use" about it. This is a Class "D" War Department wagon, repurposed as a ballast wagon post-WW1 that i built last year from a Dundas kit.

It needs another coat, but I think that Brunswick Green is suiting my little diesel mechanical shunter quite well. What are your thoughts, Bluesky chums?
