Actually, it sounds quite fun to start submitting traditions

"we welcome each new immigrant with a neighbourhood party and a whip round for their first month's rent"

"trans people are honoured for their bravery with gifts of transportation memorabilia"

etc

It's been 4 years since I got any - I maxed out 3 PCs - but what was £44 / £38 / £18 each s/h then is now £35 / £25 / £8.

Admittedly, DDR4 & the last one was DDR3, but the lesson is probably "head to CeX now".

Their Raspberry Pi prices haven't noticed this week's RAM-related price rises either.

Heresy!

Just put them on Mars or Titan! Simple! You're going to live on the first at some point, right, and the second even has lakes you can use for coolant!

(Slightly more seriously: 100Gbps is what data centres call 'slow', so the data speed issues are even worse than the piece makes out.)

And yes, doing so would be hypocritical given their cuts in funding that will kill hundreds of thousands of people.

But even so...

(Checks)

It's both fuel (not at sea in tankers) and water (not in wells or pipelines)!

Plus 5% if it's a hot season.

In other places, you could find useful things like water without having to drive hundreds and hundreds of miles carrying it.

"The Logistics Game constitutes the heart and soul of Campaign for North Africa. ... Overall commanders will soon find out their most important weapon is not their tanks or their 88's or their long-range bombers; it is their trucks."

Wasn't it fuel, not water that evaporates / leaks away at a higher rate?

Leaving me free to do the interesting bits, like the logistics...

North Africa: a trucking contest between two armed groups.

I will believe AI has arrived when you can show it the rule book, map and counters etc and have it umpire a game as well as play any positions you don't want to do yourself.

You' could say 'use these divisions to attack Hellfire Pass' and it would do it, competently, reporting back progress.

For the first time I have felt a shiver of fear because an AI can do my job exactly as well as I can.

How can you trust an AI summary to tell you about the holes if it's been programmed to just tell you it's mostly about the cheese?

"Take care of" = there will be a trade-in price that's marginally higher than the decreased price for a s/h HW3 Tesla.

Well, at least some lawyers are going to get richer. Pity the disclosure is unlikely to become public.

You can submit 'letters of interest' (ie fill out an online form) in being a member - both as an individual and as an organisation - once the legal work is done now.

Argh, but it was a delightful surprise to see your poster at least!

I was going to do one but - far less awful - stuff came up for me.

The conference was more work than any BiCon, but a very definite success and a stunning bit of international community building.

It lasted an awful lot longer than the current AI industry is going to, for a start.

That won't be around in over a century.
