Been struggling with Heinlein's supposed classic as it has issues with racism, casual objectification of young girls & women in general, & imo it's just a badly written & implausible libertarian manifesto.. then I discovered that Heinlan was an inspiration to Musk, which totally makes sense! 🧪⚛️

Then @royalsociety.org you clearly need to revoke Elon Musk's FRS, otherwise these are just hollow words.

Article makes good point that right are good at making people feel good about themselves, selling a version of happiness, appealing to part of themselves that fits right wing narrative that promotes competition and uber-masculinity as natural order.

We need left counter narratives of happiness!

Just picked up "Visual Differential Geometry and Forms" by Tristan Needham. This quote from Michael Atiyah is spot on and is why when I teach complex numbers to biologist I start with their geometric meaning & not enigmatically as solutions of the quadratic eqn, as I was taught at A-level.
