The replacement window industry is lying to you about everything: energy efficiency, sustainability, lifespan, repair and maintenance needs - all of it. They’re preying on your fear of “high energy bills” and even to a lesser extent, lead based paint
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

So I don’t think I posted it on here but a couple of weeks ago we rescued this tiny kitten from under a pile of plywood at our shop. His confidence has improved. This is a dog toy that he’s into because otherwise he does this to my arm. 😆

You know, just name your parent company Morgoth and be done with it.
Peter Thiel is founding yet another company named after something from Middle Earth.

This time it’s a bank named Erebor, a reference to the mountain which holds Smaug’s piles of gold and treasure.

Everyone keeps saying “rabbit, rabbit” for good luck and yeah here ya go.

This reminds me of the “Old Man” at a company where I was in a computer support position. The guy would get a phone call, someone would leave their email address in a voicemail, and he’d complain to me that he couldn’t just email them back without typing in their email address. Or something. 😂
congrats on the election, America

@torcho.bsky.social , I know we like to trash the postal service, but I just saw a package with UPS (*not* USPS) go to Kansas City and be “out for delivery.” Well, then it headed back to St. Louis because: Oopsie! Kind of wondering if it’ll toodle around Columbia or Jeff City on its way here.

I have almost no reach, but maybe others can help spread the word.
In the meantime, the Mound City Bar Association (and friends) put this two pager together.

Back when I taught high school, I had a “translator” in most classes who would guide me on what the kids were saying and what it meant. CBS could use some of that…guidance. 😳
CBS on the cardinals: "One thing we know they're not doing is checking Instagram because their devices have all been confiscated. I believe the kids call it rawdogging."

Me, over on another thread, complaining about people who practice demolition by neglect, raising my BP. Here’s my little building we saved from a similar fate. Lowering my BP…

We made our first tariff panic buy. The gloves are made in China and the cartridges for our respirators are made in Mexico. (It occurs to me that I don’t know where the respirators themselves are made.) Anyway. Not toys, but okay.

I remember once on Xitter (and other social media) I got in Big Trouble with a rehabber for posting derisively about their black-painted crap. Including, in that case, glazed brick. Here’s a whole article about this kind of crap. www.stlmag.com/news/red-doo...

No one. Not one person. Not anyone who considers themselves from St. Louis. No one says “Saint Louie.”
What’s one thing you wish writers (fic or otherwise) knew about your geographical area?

Here’s one of mine: we don’t say “I-10.” It’s the 10, the 101, the 405.

My hometown. Huh. I’m impressed.
ELECTION RESULT: A team of city council members in Rolla, Missouri, have been pushing anti-LGTB policies, including a ban on drag shows and book censorship.

Voters just ousted all three of these city councilors who were running for reelection, backing candidates backed by a local LGBT group.
