Criminals often feel wronged for being held legally accountable for their crimes. Their freedom to commit crimes has been violated by law enforcement.
Q: "Why won't the president accept the conclusions of his DOJ to not bring charges against Letitia James?"

Leavitt: "The president has every right to express how he feels about these people...who literally tried to ruin his life...He wants to see accountability."

And lifeguards on national beaches.
Our national parks are in trouble.

Since Trump returned to office, the National Park Service has lost nearly a quarter of its full-time staff. That’s thousands of people who used to care for trails, run visitor centers, respond to emergencies, and protect the land, gone.

Yeah - only certain parents have rights. Hmmmm.
Parental rights had a mixed bag at SCOTUS over the past week.

Essentially, if you have anti-LGBTQ views, Sam Alito will find a way to twist the law to protect you. If your kids are LGBTQ and you want to protect them, they’ll ignore you.

At Law Dork, I explain:
SCOTUS's parental rights messages: Protect anti-LGBTQ views, ignore LGBTQ people
The court protected religious parents' rights in a case over LGBTQ-related books in classrooms. Days later, the court turned away requests from parents of trans kids.

You can say that again.
Told my wife about today's Supreme Court decision to punish my child for being who they are and she flashed a smile of defiance that could shatter glass. They haven't made us sad, they've made us angry, and we are ready to fight

Harvey Milk served his country honorably — first in uniform, then in public office.

Taking his name off this Navy ship sends a clear message, and it’s one of disrespect and cruelty.

1/2 Just-dismissed Librarian of Congress, Dr. Carla Hayden, has a PhD from U Chicago, is in numerous scholarly societies, has wide acclaim. She is also first African-American to lead LoC.

The dismissal note did not say "Dear Dr. Hayden" or "Dear Madame Librarian" or even "Dear Carla."

Every book published in the United States is sent to the Library of Congress. Also, if you are under 16 you cannot use the reading room or order books.
Reporter: The president fired the Librarian of Congress. Why?

Leavitt: There were quite concerning things she had done at the Library of Congress in the pursuit of DEI and putting inappropriate books in the library for children.

Sounds doable
Republicans have given themselves a set of mutually exclusive constraints for their upcoming tax-and-budget bill:
*cut taxes, especially for rich & corporations
*not expand deficit
*not tick off their constituents, who would absolutely be hurt by Medicaid/SNAP cuts
*not raise debt limit
Opinion | There are big, ugly problems at the center of the House budget bill
Republicans have created impossible restraints on their tax-and-budget package.

Having now watched the footage and interview two of the members who were there, the amount of armed, masked federal agents surrounding three members of Congress and a mayor outside the ICE facility was totally unnecessary; the only possible reason for it was intentional escalation and intimidation.

How is it possible U.S. citizens are being held as illegal aliens in America even after they produce their birth certificate? This is intolerable. www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/...

The Trump administration took a sledgehammer to DEI efforts, ordering federal agencies to dismantle DEI offices.

A Tuesday memo demands all DEI staff be placed on leave by Wednesday and plans for permanent cuts finalized by January 31, gutting DEI across the government.

The "he's not gonna listen to her" reactions are missing many points. Lots of other people are also hearing it. Lots of people can see him hearing it, then weigh what she's said with what he'll do. Lots of people can see her refusal to surrender these ancient teachings to the latest face of empire
Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde to Trump: "I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender people in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives ... and the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals"
