The nicest goddamn dame that ever lived. 📍Twin Cities transplant
Feels like we are speed-running toward some sort of global implosion, so I will continue to deal with that by sharing cute dog photos/videos. Today's photo comes to you courtesy of my sister, who has a 6 y.o. "golden mix" with short leg syndrome (an actual thing) + a BIG 3 m.o. lab...😍

Everything is down, but Bluesky is up, so here's 1 minute of footage of my pup from a year ago, taste-testing various crunchy snacks. Feel free to bookmark it for later today, when our feed is inevitably overrun by *more* things that light tiny fires in the sockets where our eyeballs used be.

GAH! I would lovvvve to see these props in person. Also highly recommend the book Designing Graphic Props for Filmmaking by Annie Atkins - great fun! I have bookmarked many a page for reference.

Apropos of nothing: Working retail is such a thankless job - I did it before, during & after college, and 20 years later I still wake up in cold sweats from retail nightmares. But...there are times I can still hear the "Ka-CHUNK" or "Ka-CHING!" of these, and I have to say...fun machines to use!

Is it "investinglive"?? Is it, really? (Note: I do not know or follow investinglive - this article was provided in the top results when I did a simple search for "$DOW" on Google 5 minutes ago...🫠)

I have to say…every awful thing lately seems to be followed by something else that makes my jaw drop to the ground (in a good way). Goddamn this was INSANE to see in my backyard (Mendota Heights)

Fannie Mae is in the headlines, IG is an endless feed of influencers hawking Amazon hauls, my inbox is full of early Black Friday sales, everything seems to be running on vibes, The Office is back on TV (as The Paper) and that Burry guy is big shorting again. The ghost of 2008 creeps ever closer.

I only watched Community once, but apparently the dean's rap lives rent free in my head because I could not see this without thinking... SERVER: Hi, my name is Daniel & I’m - "...here to say, your checks will arrive on ANOTHER day..."

Important update on the Menards bucket of Kale...(don't worry - it will still be consumed...in its third life, as it were)...

In honor of the day, here's a moody illustration I made on Halloween 10 years ago when I was living in Chicago, between jobs, playing around with Photoshop at a little coffee shop. I miss doing these little vignettes just for fun, hangin out all day in a new neighborhood somewhere cozy. 🖤

I love a drizzly Halloween - it's nice and atmospheric out there today 🎃

My uncle dropped off the last of the kale from their garden a couple of days ago and this Menard's bucket is like the magic pasta pot in Strega Nona. Take out 1 stem and 2 more appear in it's place (doubles as fairly nice porch decor too). Anyway, if anyone needs kale...

I am trying to go as long as I can without a car - often a challenge in the metro area - and finding a mobile groomer (who offers better rates for my golden than most brick & mortars!) has been such a lifesaver. My dog adores her, she's quick, and he always returns looking great + completely dry.
