Senate Armed Services Committee Chair Roger Wicker says Republicans still have the votes to confirm Hegseth despite Murkowski’s opposition. “Yes,” he responds when asked if they still have at least 50 votes for him.
MURKOWSKI comes out against Hegseth for DOD, first GOP opponent. "The leader of the Department of Defense must demonstrate and model the standards of behavior and character we expect of all servicemembers, and Mr. Hegseth’s nomination to the role poses significant concerns that I cannot overlook."
