Central air conditioning in Portland homes only keeps houses about 20 degrees cooler. So on 100 degrees days that's 80 degrees inside. On the bottom floor. The second floor can be 10-15 degrees warmer. And the main bedrooms are always on the 2nd level.

I feel like it's hard for me to compute what's going on in LA right now. How bad are the riots? Then I remember when the media said Portland was burning to the ground and I live here and it wasn't. Yes, there were some protests. Minimal violence and minimal if any issues for us living here.

In 5th grade (about 1990) my 5th grade teacher had us say the pledge of allegiance in Spanish as well as English.

Ugh. I'm having a hard time with this season of American Idol. Bashing trucks? Wilson Phillips daughter. lol. It's hard to take this seriously as finding an unknown star when it's all so planned and contrived.

Medicare for All isn't radical.
What's radical is that we are the only major country not to guarantee health care as a human right. Every other major country figured out years ago how to provide health care to all at a much lower cost.
Please don't tell me we can't do the same.

The whole premise of public ed is a DEI initiative - every person has the right to a free, equitable & inclusive education. Private schools offer an education only to those who can pay and fit certain requirements. An educated population benefits us all and should be viewed as a fundamental RIGHT.

In context, I understand what Trump is saying. But I also get hung up on the complete illogicalness of every part of this statement.
Good news, everyone! You get to do whatever you want! As long as you say you were trying to save the country, it’s all legal now.
