Think this and West Ham are a proper wake up call. This isn't inconsistency it's just poor. Can't score, can defend, not controlling the midfield. City up next and closer to relegation than Europe

Think Newcastle are missing an old fashion ninety 9. When teams are just sitting back we need someone we can get it into the box to and will cause trouble. Who can get on the end of a loose bouncing ball and finish. Woltemade is great but not that player. Wissa could be.

Well, our defence is good. Just need to start scoring

Honestly in the UK at the moment it should be “stop being fucking idiots”.

I always thought that we were a country of well balanced people who were smart enough to recognise when they are being sold to by con men.

The last 10-15 years has proven otherwise

Turkeys voting for Christmas over here.

Think Howe genuinely wanted to try something new tactically this season with #nufc, and is trying to implement it despite (or because of) being reduced to having no proper striker and missing key players in midfield.

Honestly, don't mind ManU winning as means Amiron keeps his job for longer. No risk of getting a decent manager in who could actually start getting them playing well.

Hmm. Didn't mean for #nufc to take this literally
Think we need to go out full energy and intensity. Even if that means an injury and bookings. If we can show them and the rest of the league we're here to play, to win, and don't need Isak, I think it sends a strong message.

If Liverpool were really looking to bid after the game surely they would have been working with #nufc on this in the background. Which would suggest we have a replacement ready to go - which we don't. So I just don't think they are going to bid.

Howe: My wish is that he will be playing with us on Monday and 100% I want to see him back in a Newcastle shirt.

Can see Isak coming back. This is the first step. The opening of the door from Howe. Keep talking about his return and it becomes more normal

At least Howe had kept it private, classy and the door open.

That Isak statement essentially shuts the door.

Newcastle United have completed their 4th signing of the summer, shelling out ~£40m for Jacob Ramsey from EPL rival Aston Villa.

Like Thiaw, the club have secured a player that’s been on their shortlist for a long time. Why does Howe like him so much? It’s time to take a closer look 🧵 #NUFC

Feels like #nufc are just looking for a £40-60m starting striker, but not an Isak replacement. Just someone who can start and get 15-odd goals this year. Then in Jan or summer when Isak situation is resolved, we'll either spend that money on his replacement or have Isak back.

Just realised that no matter how well #nufc do this season, there will always be the 'what if' factor around Isak. For every draw where we missed a chance to win, it'll be what if Isak played. People will be counting the points we lost due to not having him
August 16, 2025 at 12:06 PM
If Isak goes on strike, could we not sue him and use that money towards PSR 🤣
August 14, 2025 at 5:04 PM
This feels like the transfer window that players and agents have cottoned on to the fact that PSR means project clubs like #NUFC and Villa simply won't be able to pay the wages of the big 6 - probably ever. That even if Man U finish 14th, they can buy themselves back into running.

Controversial opinion but I feel a CM is higher priority for #nufc in terms of transfers than a CB. Just in terms of bodies. We've got a lot of people who can play at the back but literally only 5 in CM. Though expect Hall might find himself playing midfield more often this season
August 2, 2025 at 12:51 PM
Lot of talk about how #NUFC have handled the Isak thing but think Isak's team have been really naive about the whole thing. If they thought OFC were interested and this was his only choice, they should have come out a long time ago or just had an honest chat with the Newcastle team.

My view of #NUFC transfers is we should target:
- either big 6 bench warmers or mid table stars who want Europe & want to play regular (ie, they'll get more mins with us than big 6)
- international level from other big Euro leagues that want to play in PL
- youths & wildcards from other Euro league
July 27, 2025 at 7:01 PM
We are all aware that if #NUFC bows down to Isak wage and contract demands, next summer (or even January), we're going to be found through the same thing with Gordon, Bruno, Timo...
July 26, 2025 at 5:38 PM
One of the big issues with Isak is that if we give him the contract he wants then #NUFC probably won't financially be able to buy the kind of back up striker he would want.

He knows that, which is why he's probably pushing to leave.
