It’s time! The Bert's Books Secret Santa.

Sign up by 30th November, and pick a book you'd like to gift to someone else.

I'll work out the best person to send that book to - and in return you'll get a book to unwrap too!

Let's see what the team are reading this week!

Bert is reading "The Other People"; ten people have woken up in a dark house with no way out. They must solve a murder - while not ending up victims themselves! - Michael

The first book of the day was a lovely one.

Little boy came in wanting a Dav Pilkey book, he needed £1 more on his card. I got him one of our tags from the Pay it Forward board, problem solved.

Then he needed his PIN and didn't know it. Another customer stepped in and bought it for him!

I’m having a rare Sunday in charge. I’ve had to forego my sausage sandwich.

Who’d like a book?

What's everyone reading this weekend?

The first book of today was The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett.

I've never read it, but I've always heard good things about it!

I’ve done this one before, but I like it and it’s Bram Stoker’s birthday so I’m doing it again.

We put the board up every day when we open the shop, but the website is open 24/7 you know.

You don’t need to wait for me.

Ok, it's about to get dark, get yourself home with a good book.

If you haven't checked that our website is definitely working, then you should do that by buying a book...

There are TWO new books that came out yesterday that I didn’t tell you about.

The first is The Christmas Cracker Killer by Alexandra Benedict

They’ve got a lovely tartan spayed edge and they’re signed!

The Sex Lives of Cannibals

Contrary to the title it is not about sex or cannibals but a hilarious tale of living in the furthest remote sliver of an island where nothing and everything happens. Literally laugh out loud funny in sections. Bought for the title. Kept for the content.

I have an #ImportantFridayQuestion

What's your favourite book of the year so far?
(Your answer may be noted and influence the Berties, so choose carefully)

Looks like we're all working now.

Who wants to buy a book and test it out?
We're about to start upgrading the website. I say we. A very clever man called Pete is.

All I know is that we're going to have to turn the website off for a few hours this afternoon, at 3pm

So if you want a book, you'd best get ordering it now.
