Does this mean you can't do the "I'm not voting for x" bit anymore?

Happy birthday

And many of those US offices sit for 2 years, with a primary in the middle.

The one the intrigues me most is left NIMBY accelerationism because I have the least idea what you're driving at.

QLD is being redistributed before the next election.

There will be a most PHON seat, likely based in that kind of area, but it will be difficult to predict.

I'm going to guess that the voting system was not very conducive to authors with a huge oeuvre, explaining the lack of Terry Pratchett.

Can you post the details?
September 29, 2025 at 5:13 AM
How? The only wanker players are Zorko and arguably Rayner.

Or do you mean "proto-green" strictly as in the independents who grew into the actual Green Party.
July 20, 2025 at 7:19 AM
Oh, is George more of a Teal than proto-Green then?
July 20, 2025 at 7:18 AM
I'm not sure the probability of a non-major party premier is much lower than 1%

I could imagine some completely chaotic result leading to a galaxy brained interim independent premier, or a grand coalition premier emerging out of a split and re-stylising themself as an independent.

Speaking of "quite some time", do we have an estimate for when regular DoPs will be published?

I'm waiting to do 3PP graphs of seats where Green and "Teal" candidates make the 3 with the finalised numbers.

"Vote against public housing"

What public housing???
June 5, 2025 at 5:11 AM
I feel like the left side of the graph should extend to the 1970s to visually show how unprecedented the current population per division is.

I don't know quite what PeteSig is getting at.

The Greens won a seat in the senate in WA in both 2022 and 2025, and Labor only got about 35% of the vote in both.

There is no "landslide" of support for Labor (in either election), it's just that our lower house system rewards the largest parties.
June 2, 2025 at 10:03 AM
She was elected as a Green in 2022 (and was not a candidate in the resent election, senators are elected for 6 year terms).
June 2, 2025 at 9:50 AM
Unicameral national PR system? Sign me up!

I think that would represent the views of the public much better than our current system which often shoehorns a majority for parties with minority support.
June 2, 2025 at 9:46 AM
65% of people did not want a Labor majority government.

This is obviously true. Anybody who wanted a Labor majority government had the option to give Labor a 1st preference. Only 35% did.
June 2, 2025 at 9:37 AM
We are talking about an elected senator from a 3rd party. In the senate it in fact is overwhelmingly about 1st preferences.

To imply her seat rightfully belongs to the Labor party is insane.
June 2, 2025 at 9:36 AM
Labor got 35% of the vote. 65% of people voted for somebody else.

My understanding is that the thin atmosphere is a downstream effect of Mars not having a strong magnetic field. Solar radiation (that is moderated on Earth) hits Mars full-bore and strips the atmosphere.

An inhospitable place for life.

No Greg, they need to have their cake *and* eat it or they'll be very sad.
June 2, 2025 at 2:51 AM
The employers actually benefit even more than you might first think by intentionally employing "illegals."

Underpay or otherwise treat "illegal" employees badly and what are they going to do, go running to the authorities? Nah, because then they get arrested for being illegal!
June 1, 2025 at 10:45 AM
Like, it's fine to get in your "told you so" now Ketan, but you know that the Greens tried to squeeze as much as they could with the hand dealt at the time.
June 1, 2025 at 7:47 AM
The people who correctly want better policy outcomes immediately are generally sidelined (or silent) at the moments when the negotiations are being done. Highlighted instead are the unthreatening "pass, then improve" and "don't let the perfect be enemy of the good" bed-wetters.
June 1, 2025 at 7:45 AM
The big driver is the wider political context.

The Greens were (and are) brandished as blockers and feel a constant pressure counter that.
