It also leads to so many of the daily discussions being disingenuous. Because of the dunk/ragebait model, many smart and/or genuine people (unless their followings are small enough to stay below the radar) know it's not worth engaging, so most of what's out there is from dumb dumbs and/or baiters

As a side note, this is also why issue-based polling is really tricky. It is so easy to manipulate the outcome (intentionally or unintentionally) by how you frame questions and the context you include (or don't include)
