Today I am cooking a version of minestrone with various veggies, hot Italian sausage, and maybe some kale from my garden.
Remembering a one-off meal shared between desperate immigrants and merciful natives.
Celebrating those around me who inspire me, hold me up, and keep me going.
Thankful for YOU

Fighting for what, exactly? Because I thought y'all were fighting for extension of the ACA subsidies, which do not appear to be mentioned in the "deal" just voted on.
So what, precisely, was the focus of the fight for the last six weeks?
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

I didn't get fooled by the fake Sean Duffy quote, but many did—and I can't blame them for it

Why?

Because surely you've noticed that members of the Trump administration say shit this stupid every single day?

Distinguishing yesterday's incomprehensibly stupid shit from today's fake quote is *work*

The free speech activist who built a list of professors he worked to get fired for their speech must be celebrated for his support of free speech, and anyone who quotes his speech accurately in context will be fired and/or face state punishment by the champions of free speech, do I have that right?

HEY PROFS GUESS WHAT? 18 year olds are making fun of you for your AI boosterism

Haw many times, and in how many ways that we don't even know about, do we fail children in favor of the rich and powerful?
As ppl look for transparency & accountability we’ve put together a comprehensive timeline of the failure of federal law enforcement to address Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's crimes @justsecurity.org

It’s a “tale of national disgrace” spanning 3 decades

The CEO of a a multi-trillion dollar company went to the White House, openly handed the US president a gift made of gold, and his company got a special exemption to tariffs the president has illegally imposed.

Also, the Founders took bribery so seriously the Constitution bans it 3 separate times.

I've lived in D.C. for the better part of two decades. Nearly my whole adult life. Something folks aren't talking about--a giant elephant in the room--is the amount of "brand protection" going on right now.

I don't mean fear of Trump or political persecution, although those can overlap.
