Much like this hellscape they built on Baronne - definitely affordable housing (at first) that somehow all got a swimming pool and are now STRs. Our council is (and always has been) either easily hoodwinked at best or likely grifters at worst.

As far as I could tell it always ended with them “requiring” affordable housing units be built then halfway through construction allowing the developers to rezone and oh look there’s 50 new airbnb units!

Interestingly (to me, a layperson when it comes to fishies), the first pass qualitative look-see through my 6-week long dataset shows similar patterns to these folks' captive drum study. More active in the evenings, quite active in the autumn, etc.
