18 months after work begun on the Starbase Pad 2 tower at Starbase, The Ship Quick Disconnect Arm was lifted and installed into place, one more major step on the road to the pad becoming operational.

WAKE UP BABE, A NEW JWST IMAGE DROPPED!!! 🌌✨
4 dust shells expand away from 3 central stars that appear as a single pinpoint of light. The innermost shell is smallest, like the size of a thumbprint, and brightest. It is yellow and forms a backward lowercase e. A line at 3 o’clock swoops to the bottom-left in an arc that ends at 8 o’clock. A second line at 9 o’clock dips down to start, but then goes straight up, angling around the top. The 2nd shell, about the size of a fist, is orange and has looser arcs. One appears from 4 to 7 o’clock. A brighter orange triangle appears from 10 to 12 o’clock. Its outer edges overlap, forming a rough circle. The third shell extends almost to the edges and is semi-translucent red, with similar arcs and a darker red line that also forms a faint triangle at top left. The widest shell is faintest and at the edges. A semi-transparent blue appears across the scene. A larger foreground star with spikes is at bottom left, and more distant stars and galaxies are strewn across the black expanse of space.

After a successful liftoff of New Glenn on Nov. 13, the first-stage booster is on its way back to Port. According to Blue Origin, arrival is expected on Tue.

This is a short video compiled from over 120 photos taken by my remote camera, which was just under a mile from the pad.

After a few scrubs, ULA has launched their Atlas V 551 rocket on the Viasat -3 F2 mission from SLC 41 at the Cape Canaveral
Space Force Station. Closing out a busy day for the space coast.
On board today's mission was the ViaSat-3 F2 ultra-high-capacity communications satellite.

Spiral galaxy NGC 4102. The inner region immediately around the bright centre is golden in colour. A gap separates this region from a bright ring, itself surrounded by a glowing halo. Strands of dark brown dust swirl around the centre and the outer ring, joined in one spot by a curved arm. SPOOKY SPACE PICTURES FOR HALLOWEEN 🎃🌌
As the name implies, this reflection nebula associated with the star Rigel looks suspiciously like a fairytale crone. Formally known as IC 2118 in the constellation Orion, the Witch Head Nebula glows primarily by light reflected from the star. The color of this very blue nebula is caused not only by blue color of its star, but also because the dust grains reflect blue light more efficiently than red. A similar physical process causes Earth's daytime sky to appear blue. A composite image of a pulsar wind nebula which strongly resembles a ghostly purple hand with sparkling fingertips, set against a black, starry backdrop. X-ray observations by Chandra and IXPE reveal that the shape of this pulsar wind nebula strongly resembles a human hand, including five fingers, a palm and wrist. The bright white spot near the base of the palm is the pulsar itself. The three longest fingertips of the hand-shape point toward our upper right, or 1:00 on a clock face. There, a small, mottled, orange and yellow cloud appears to sparkle or glow like embers. This orange cloud is part of the remains of the supernova explosion that created the pulsar. A BEAUTIFUL AND SPOOKY NEW IMAGE OF THE RED SPIDER NEBULA FROM JWST!! 🌌🕷️
A large planetary nebula. The nebula’s central star is hidden by a blotchy pinkish cloud of dust. A strong red light radiates from this area, illuminating the nearby dust. Two large loops extend diagonally away from the centre, formed of thin ridges of molecular gas, here coloured blue. They stretch out to the corners of the view. A huge number of bright, whitish stars cover the background, also easily visible through the thin dust layers.
