If the strength of our relationships is how we survive, how we start to prepare to survive is by building networks of care, community, getting connected to our neighbours and our communities. So having meals together or just knowing your neighbours household make up can be preparing. We can do this

Here in Idaho, my favorite part about taking our kids to the pediatrician is giving two enthusiastic thumbs up when the doctor asks if we’re ok with vaccines. Small rebellions. 🧪

I’m not using New Year’s as motivation to accomplish a bunch of new goals. It’s cold, I’m still hibernating. January-March is time to envision and set intentions for the rest of the year. Once spring comes, I’ll be ready to tackle the goals I’ve prepared for.

It's so embarrassing to be rich and not happy. If I had $200 billion I wouldn't be trying to impress Joe Rogan with my tough boy talk, I'd be jousting on jet skis, I'd be paying church choirs to sing dirty words, I'd buy one of the really big Lego sets. Being an angry rich guy is so cringe.
