Once my leave started, I was automatically logged out of all my work accounts so I couldn’t even be tempted to work. When I return, I will work part-time for a month and use my unlimited PTO to continue receiving my full salary.

With Baby 2, I qualified for CA benefits (receiving 60-70% of my salary for ~20 weeks). My work then supplemented those benefits so I received 100% of my salary for ~12 of those weeks. I was also able to go on leave 2 weeks before my due date…

I could either return to work 1-week PP, or pay out of pocket for a sub ($100/day). Six weeks of leave would have cost me $2,500 plus medical bills. However, since schools went virtual for COVID right before I delivered, I actually got *zero* leave and continued teaching online for 2 months.
