Passionate about self-directed learning for the sheer joy of it, widening access in the arts, and the Oxford comma.

Marries strangers for fun.
My eldest’s Christmas list for present ideas is significantly different to mine at her age 😁 How wonderful that is!

A weekend of La Fille for the ballet girl inbetween her own lessons.
£12 standing ticket at the RBO on Saturday afternoon for the Whitehead Kaneko Ball cast
£25 (!! How is it more?) cinema seat on Sunday afternoon for the Hay Hayward Sambé cast
Together, a better overall view than a £200 seat…

The stunning opera house in Madrid. The ballroom seemed the perfect place for ballet girl to magic up a quick arabesque 🩰

We lucked out with an amazing Air BnB in Madrid… A historic converted theatre right in the city centre.

£15 standing ticket view for Ballet Girl.

This girl danced herself all day, and then stood for three hours to see the Royal Ballet In Like Water for Chocolate.

Did she think it worth it? Absolutely ⭐️ 🩰

I love wandering along the river in London. It can be damp, dull and autumnal, but it’s still absolutely stunning.

A follow-up viewing of Theatre Picasso @tate.bsky.social

So much better this time as far fewer people. In the end I had to be asked to leave so they could close.

Will be returning as the video section is LONG and the whole lay-out is weird. I think I need to walk backwards through it 🤦🏻‍♀️

An early start in Covent Garden for Ballet Girl this morning as she had a very special small group class with these rather marvellous RB principals 🩰

Ponders if the Tesco express around the corner from ballet girl’s hall of residence ever wonder why they sell so much ice, all through the year 🧊
They must shift so much more than other Tesco expresses do 😆

Black Sabbath this evening on the final night at the Lowry for BRB. I’d heard a quiet rumour that the company don’t enjoy this ballet. Wrong! They looked to simply LOVE the whole performance!
An amazing night, and a thrill to watch Lachlan, who ballet girl has worked with at NYB. He was awesome 🤩

I have girls much cooler than me 😁

I really wish I’d gone too, but my girls have had an amazing night together and I love, love, love that they are inspired by live performance and outstanding talent.

If Rachel Zegler does do Phantom…
we’ll be there 🎶

Loved The Midnight Bell at Bradford Alhambra this evening.
I feel I need another watch to really appreciate the intimacies and intricacies of every couple.
All the dancers were outstanding. A company at the very top of their game 😁

First look at the Turner shortlist. This needs further visits!

(But I know who I think will win 😁)

Loved Sandi Toksvig live this evening.

Her book is a close second.

We need a support group for pets left behind when their young people move away from home.
Viola the ragdoll refuses to move from her owner’s bedroom door this evening. Not even for cooked chicken 😆

A rather extraordinary and yet quite perfect compilation of Gershwin, Bruch and Rachmaninov this evening by the @operanorth.co.uk orchestra 🎶
September 25, 2025 at 9:11 PM
The show that should have been called Fagin! rather than Oliver! 😆
Simon Lipkin was well worth the price of the ticket alone ❤️
Immensely enjoyable 😁

Theatre Picasso at Tate Modern. First visit.
Absolutely deserving of the ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ reviews…. but way too many people and way too many screaming toddlers to be enjoyable.
Members Hour next time!

I am so tempted to see @northernballet.bsky.social Merlin for the third time this week. An extraordinary production, and I have loved every cast.

Drove into Central London to play a spot of Car Jenga.
Second-born daughter now home after her first year of professional ballet training.
She is so ready for the summer…

Loved the opening night of Royal Ballet’s “From Ballet to Broadway: Wheeldon Works”, especially An American in Paris.
The live cinema screening is definitely one to watch out for 👀

A belated thank you to @jayrayner1.bsky.social for an amazing evening of Jazz. I completely won on the Christmas gift giving challenge of 2024 when I bought my step Mum tickets 🙌🏻
Such an amazing evening! 🎶
