This is excellent. I have watched Bourne’s Swan Lake several times and the three stand out performances for me are this original one, a version I saw in Sadlers Wells in the mid 2000’s, and his recent anniversary tour.

So happy this Sunday evening.

Good in many ways, but indicative of Bradford 2025, it doesn’t deliver!
Why bring one of the most famous ballerinas to Bradford, acknowledging that there are artistic people, with little access to the arts… and then have her in an empty theatre? 🤦🏻‍♀️

A weekend of La Fille for the ballet girl inbetween her own lessons.
£12 standing ticket at the RBO on Saturday afternoon for the Whitehead Kaneko Ball cast
£25 (!! How is it more?) cinema seat on Sunday afternoon for the Hay Hayward Sambé cast
Together, a better overall view than a £200 seat…

I am the designated admin assistant for everything my daughters do.

Audition photos to rename and sort? Me
Research into conference posters and how to transport them? Me
Pointe shoes sewing and posting? Me
A new ring door bell ordering? Me

The stunning opera house in Madrid. The ballroom seemed the perfect place for ballet girl to magic up a quick arabesque 🩰

We lucked out with an amazing Air BnB in Madrid… A historic converted theatre right in the city centre.

Last night was not the first time I have seen this production of La Boheme, but it was one of my absolute favourite times as I took my daughters 🥰

Enjoyed the performance immensely from the cast of Fiddler on the Roof tonight in Manchester.

The audience members behind us who were talking, humming and rustling throughout, less so! Why pay a lot of money for a ticket and then chatter commentate throughout like it’s an episode of Gogglebox? 🤷🏻‍♀️

£15 standing ticket view for Ballet Girl.

This girl danced herself all day, and then stood for three hours to see the Royal Ballet In Like Water for Chocolate.

Did she think it worth it? Absolutely ⭐️ 🩰

Watching Misty Copeland’s final dance with tears in my eyes this morning.

I remember when Misty first came to the scene. We still only had pink pointe shoes and tights, she changed that. She revolutionized the ballet world in such a wonderful and long overdue way.

Thank you, Misty. 🩷

An extraordinary artist whose impact cannot be overstated. Can't wait to continue following her work.

"In all honesty, I don’t feel that ABT has done enough with me in furthering the cause,” she says. “Where’s that legacy?” The answer, it seems, is that she’s carrying it forward herself."

Yes! This is the beauty of celebrity traitors.
I have never enjoyed a programme so much frankly.
That episode was Shakespearian! It is magnificent. To be honest, I don't think it matters whether they're celebs or not. None of us *really* knew who Cat Burns was, let's honest, but in this context, she carries as much dramatic weight as Jonathan Ross. More, even.
Her music is pretty good, btw :)

As someone who has walked into a Paris gallery*with purpose* to see an exhibition and missed the darn thing completely; I completely agree.

A follow-up viewing of Theatre Picasso @tate.bsky.social

So much better this time as far fewer people. In the end I had to be asked to leave so they could close.

Will be returning as the video section is LONG and the whole lay-out is weird. I think I need to walk backwards through it 🤦🏻‍♀️

I really enjoyed this on Thursday night in Leeds. Worth a ticket if you’re close to Salford 🎟️

(And can actually get there! I find it the worst theatre for public transport OR driving. But don’t let that put you off! He’s funny).
🎟️Extra Tickets Released!🎟️

As seen on Netflix, Comedy Central and host of Very British Problems, Tom Houghton is bringing his show, Deep to Lowry this Sunday!
