Snap decision and ticket bought - I loved the last two years at the Women’s Prize Live (even if this years was a bit on the chilly side!) and met such amazing book folk there each time.

Amazing books, inspirational women, a beautiful garden: what more could anyone ask for? 🥰
It's the second day of our #Earlybird Women's Prize LIVE sale!

Don't worry if you missed out on the first 100 tickets, we have some more... but be quick, they're only available at this special price for this weekend ONLY.

Oh, autumn 🍂
We’ve had so many grey days recently, I couldn’t resist a little expedition out amongst the golds and browns and low-sun beauty 🧡

I used to do this in the early days of twitter so, before this place becomes feral...got any questions about children's publishing/writing? I won't have all the answers but I worked in publishing for 15 years before going full time as an author, here for all your demystification needs. #Kidlituk

Life is FIRMLY in the way of writing at the moment. It’s that kind of season.
My goal is not to let the mammoth “shoulds” weigh me down too much… I’m half way through a round of structural edits on my twisty-turny psych crime novel, can’t wait until i have breathing space to get back to it 🩵

I feel like the good vibes on this platform are slowly starting to heal some of the harm done on what-Twitter-became…

So happy to rediscover the beauty of the #writingcommunity and dive into #booksky

It may be autumn, but it’s a season of new beginnings for me - so good timing to ditch the negativity of the other app, and seek a new home elsewhere.

Looking to connect with others in the #writingcommunity - even though I haven’t *quite* grasped how the algorithm works in these bluer skies ⛅️🩵

The sky lifted after 24-hours of non-stop rain, just in time for little legs to get to roam across the dunes.

Enjoying diving into the writing of novel #3 👩‍💻

Another twisty crime with female friendship in the foreground, this time set in a charged & polarised political landscape, with suspected murder amidst party political skullduggery.

Just getting to know my characters, loving it as they surprise me ❤️📝

Just realised the clocks go back while we’re at @jerichowriters.bsky.social Festival of Writing next weekend:
It will be the first time in 9 years that I’ll get to enjoy the treat of that extra hour - instead of just being woken up at the same ungodly time as always by my little person!
Bliss!! ☺️

Bold steps taken on this eerily warm October weekend:

I opened a brand new file and wrote the first words of what I *hope* will turn into novel #3

I spent today reading through novel #2 for final tweaks, readying myself to dive back into the query trenches in the coming weeks - oscillating between excitement and dread at the prospect.

Meanwhile, ideas for novel #3 are brimming, and I found myself sketching out a very rough structure…

The problem with these new platforms is that all us “lurkers and likers” need to get more vocal, and actually post once in a while! Will do my best.

I had an amazing #writingroutine before the summer, but then increased work responsibilities landed right at the same time as my son’s summer holidays. With schools back, but work remaining full-on, I haven’t managed to recapture that productive, creative time.
I miss it!
Time to re-prioritise 📝

I’m out of action with covid, and annoyingly don’t feel up to reading - but so grateful I’d been hoarding Audible credits.

Just finished One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke, loved it all the way through.
