I just re-watch movies that I like over and over until I get an idea or theory then I try to map it onto motivations, character arcs, symbolism, etc

Sometimes I wish more of these big filmmakers would do panels so that people like you or I could just fucking humiliate them with their poor understanding of their chosen medium.

It’s a large scale problem in Hollywood. It’s almost impossible these days to come from humble means and be a filmmaker. So the ones who are usually are shallow privileged people with minimal life experience/wisdom.
