No, no free eye tests down here. Employer will subsidise part of the test but I couldn't be bothered to apply, and then I paid a bit more to have an extra eye health test on top.

In case I don't think they'd have been cheaper for me. Eye test + 2 pairs designer frames with top end varifocals. Also, I wanted to try them on there and then.

Haha..well that keeps things simple I guess!
I have one eye that can't do distance and the other can't do close up, but they've stopped balancing each other now, so she recommended me give them a try.
We shall see...

Ah good stuff. Heard in past some people struggle with them so I've paid for the top lenses they had which I hope will help.
They said if I don't get on with them, they'll swap them for single vision at no cost.

Both varifocals and rectangular..gone one pair of regular and one sunnies.
Found a VR thing on the Specsavers site..think it was these that I chose but can't remember haha.

Think they're both rectangular shape, and yeah they advised me to try varifocals. I couldn't stand having to ask myself "where are my other glasses" and not having the right ones at the right time. Would drive me bonkers.
