Wife guy from Wisconsin, late 30's, mtb/gravel/urban cyclist, homebrewer, iPod modder, hobby farmer.
I have friends like this and tend to take advantage of them quickly giving up on these endeavors so I can't really have any problem with it, from a selfish standpoint.

Speaking as someone who just built himself a mountain bike this month...that guy didn't spend any unreasonable amount on that fryer. He just takes his hobbies seriously, dude loves to fry up some tubers, and then pass the gear on cheaper to the next enthusiast.

I also hate Bill Maher but I can think of a million better things to do with my time than listen to a podcast about him. Maybe behind the bastards. But definitely not a series.

Does this work? Guess you'll just have to "fuck around and find out"

Everyone is ignoring the explicit started goal of "sometimes take on longer rides" which makes a road bike an appropriate choice. Just probably a more endurance focused one and not an aggressive aero or ultralight geometry.

"Longer rides" suggests that an endurance road bike or gravel bike would be the best option for non e-bikes. You can set them up for a much less aggressive posture and affix racks/packs. But if you're looking to do 20+ mile rides semi regularly, a comfort hybrid is gonna be a total drag.

I know he's worried about losing his job due to injury but he needs to get healthy. I doubt Havrisik is gonna be perfect in the interim anyway. Feels like McManus is kicking himself out of any next job at this rate.

And I gotta throw this one in there because it might be my favorite of his. He's crazy talented.

Not gonna bother listening to that because it didn't take any effort to create. There's no shortage of talented musicians online that are actually applying their skills to do this sort of thing and are so much more impressive.

This guy usually does metal covers but this is his wild take on it.

My maybe most extreme political positions are that we need to ban all gambling ads outside of adults-only platforms, ban prop bets, ban "free" bets, and require a license to be able to use gambling apps which can be revoked for things like social media threats.

Or ideally just ban them all outright

I wholeheartedly appreciate all the thinkpieces that have been written about jackass and its disgustingly wholesome masculinity.

Also, I really hate to suggest facebook to anyone for anything ever, but it might be worth popping on there or borrowing a friend's account to find a local "farm direct" group to find something and establish an offline relationship.

You might also find farmers with bulk meat on offer posted on the bulletin board at your local butcher shop that does bulk processing, maybe more likely at a country/small town one. Failing that you can always just ask around while you're there.

Or a turkey. I think.

I miss them. Glad I was able to catch their killer show at Turner Hall in I think 2008, even though I was underage and more sober for it than I wanted to be (had to drive two hours home)

lmao yeah sure let's self censor all political jokes in the most absurd political landscape of our lives because of this one knockoff babylon bee propaganda outlet using "satire" as a get-out-of-defamation-free card.

Not trash yet, but it was just bought by private equity so before long it'll be indistinguishable from subway.

That's what makes it a great first song to open up the dance floor, but terrible anywhere after unless you've got a good dj that can cut it in naturally. My memory is it being like 6 minutes long, but jesus it's actually just shy of 9.

Perfect coffin corner. And good on the broadcast booth for bumping Tyler Childers into the commercial.
