Our system was not designed for a party system in which one party can gain control of all three branches after having radicalized against democracy, having lost all sense of shame about telling easily disprovable lies, and having built a hermetically-sealed media environment for their supporters.
I get the speed & brutality of massive destructive power grabs but I have yet to see anything that explains in any way how Trump to say nothing of musk are free to operate purely by malign fiat, untwisted, as sole owners of a country that had rules & cops & g-men & bench warrants til three weeks ago

Musk's propaganda focusing on individual items in US AID's budget is part of the authoritarian assault on the concept of "a public good." By turning every penny the US gov't spends into a topic of public deliberation (and potential ridicule), they are trying to turn people against democracy itself.

Imagine filing an ethics complaint in this administration… they are tossing it in the garbage. Imagine that work environment! A lot of people going to be abused.
