The sad thing is how people defend AI against use of the terms 'mediocrity generator'. It's like, "No, chum, listen: that is exactly correct. It analyzes for and then anticipates the next most likely -- i.e., statistically average -- word. It is literally a generator of average output." >sigh<

I am assuming that part of this is that some firms *did* cave, so they have enough compliant 'righteous and honorable folks' doing what they need. And I think after all these years you know how that sits with me.
