this is another of those bizarre things where if your local city councilperson did it there'd be incredible outrage but nobody cares if the president of the united states does it
Of course Trump got booed at the US Open final, and caused delays by attending, but it seems a little underplayed that he was there in a luxury box seat provided by Rolex, which is a Swiss company hoping to get out from under huge tariffs he imposed on Switzerland. apnews.com/article/trum...

NYC-area people! Wanna see @elienyc.bsky.social go off on SCOTUS? And support a Congressional candidate who knows what we're up against and how to get us out of it? And meet us both?

Then come to our event TONIGHT.

It's pretty obvious that a lot of US mainstream media either doesn't recognise authoritarianism or doesn't want to call it out. Either way, it's an excellent way to destroy trust in your institution.

Based on crowd-sourced records of No Kings Day event turnout, and extrapolating for the cities where we don't have data yet, it looks like roughly 4-6 million people protested Trump across the U.S. yesterday. That's nearly 2% of the U.S. pop!

Mobilized anti-Trump resistance is exceeding 2017 levels
"No Kings Day" protests turn out millions
Our unofficial estimate is that around 4 million people attended a protest event yesterday. Anti-Trump resistance is outpacing 2017.

The FAA halted the work of an outside panel of experts scrutinizing its management of air traffic control, a previously unreported move made after a fatal airliner crash near Washington raised questions about the agency’s abilities to keep the skies safe.

The thing with Pedro Pascal is he not only gives a fuck; he knows he's huge enough to spend all day trashing bigots safely because entire franchises are built around him atm. He's no dispensable Gina Carano-tier secondary guy. This also underlines how most famous artists as big as him are cowards.

Grimly amusing in a way that if you set aside Trumpism and tried to write a pithy apolitical overview of our trade policy, you'd end up with, "the United States saw the abject failure of Brexit and tried to replicate it on a grander scale."
Brexit was a national own goal of epic proportions, and it’s about to look like a minor opening act.
(Reuters) - White House aides have drafted a proposal to impose tariffs of around 20% on most imports to the United States, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday.
